Oeke was imported in 2004 as a weanling from the well-known Bruinsma family ("Snakkerstate") in Friesland. Oeke's stamline is the same as the stallion Sake, approved in 2008. Oeke was raised here at Tanbark Acres and as a 3 year old she became a Ster and Champion Mare at her keuring in 2007.
Oeke was bred to world champion Mintse 384 and gave birth to her first foal, a colt named Ficus, in 2009. Tragically, Oeke died in foalbirth. The word "Oeke" is Friesian for "sweetheart. That she was. We miss her every day.
