Tara (Wander 352 x Thomas 327, stam 102) is the daughter of our foundation mare Dahlia ster.
A sweet and curious youngster, Tara became an internet sensation at the age of 4 months when people around the world saw her patiently being clipped, washed, feet picked up, and loading on a trailer. Oh, and trotting with lightness and tremendous power.
She started fulfilling her promise when she went to the keuring as a weanling and was judged 1st premie, Champion Filly.
During the summer of 2009 Tara spent 7 weeks in professional training with Wiebe Dragstra of Dragstra Stables. She got back green broke to harness, and fit for the keuring. Like her mom, Tara is a natural in harness. But she also has the modern lines which would help her under saddle. Her trainer says she is smart, cooperative, and a hard worker. To me she is the sweetest horse you can imagine, following me around the pasture like a puppy just to be with me.
In September 2009 Tara went to the keuring and made ster status with a 2nd premie. This keeps her damline unbroken all the way back to 1948 and in the last 5 generations before she has Ster-Ster-Model+Pref-Model+Pref-Ster+Pref. Tara's Model+Pref Great Grandma is still producing 1st premie foals in the Netherlands at age 19.
Tara has only begun to mature We cannot wait to see what is in store for this terrific little mare with some of the best breeding bloodlines in America.
