Dee, Tyler, and trainer Nancy
Owner Dee (on Tyler), trainer Nancy
and sweet, wonderful Tyler

In the fall of 2003, we brought in a new mature gelding for our farm. Born in 1998, Tyler made it to the second round of stallion testing and has been awarded a star rating; he has since been gelded and trained in harness and under saddle. He is a full brother to the Friesian stallion Pilgrim, who produced many wonderful registered offspring.

We are so pleased with Tyler's looks and incredibly sweet personality that we have decided to continue his training and use him in local shows and events. This will allow the horse people in our area (and there are LOTS of them) with an opportunity to get to know the wonderful Friesian horse.

Tyler has a lovely head carriage and a terrific, impressive trot. He has had a great deal of work in harness and looks top notch pulling a carriage. He keeps those movements under saddle as well, and draws a crowd when we work him. We're very, very happy to have Tyler with us here at Tanbark Acres.

We have started a photo page for Tyler. Check it out .

Jeannine and Carlton check out Tyler's driving ability

June, 2004: Tyler took first place at the Friesian Under Saddles qualifying and Championship classes at the Roanoke Horse Show. We do not plan to keep Tyler on the show circuit (though he may pop up every now and then), but we are so proud of the job he did advertising our farm at the Statesville and Roanoke shows. And as an added bonus, he won 1st place at both events! Tyler had never shown before this year, so we want to express our deep thanks to his rider and trainer, Nancy Troutman of Meadow Wood Stables. Nancy did a terrific job with him, and she's a great person to work with. We're happy to call her our friend.

He always puts his head up, in the perfect spot

Tyler has been rated star, and is full papered. He is the full brother of a Friesian stallion (Pilgrim) who went through the FPS approval process and sired many nice, registered offspring.

You can see a snapshot of his pedigree here.
